Marian Crisan third feature film “ORIZONT” will have the world premiere in November 2015 at the prestigious Tallin Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia.

The movie is based on the classical Romanian novella “The Mill Of Good Luck” (“Moara cu noroc”) by Ioan Slavici.

Now that illegal logging has become one of Romania’s most pressing environmental issues, director Marian Crisan has moved the story to the present day. Rather than just being a faithful adaptation of the text, the film aims to reopen a discussion of the main themes of the novel in a style different from conventional storytelling. Set out as a low-key thriller, “Orizont” focuses on the family topic, the “peacefulness of the hut”, as Slavici puts it, underlining what we are prepared to do in order to make this peacefulness last.
